Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is virtual interior design? Our Virtual Design services are convenient and cost effective, helping you to achieve your dreams and create your desires for a beautiful home, taking place entirely online. By working remotely, we can offer low cost interior design help cut out costs like consultation fees, regular meetings, travel expenses etc. What you can expect to receive are things like mood boards, floor plans, 2D or 3D renders etc. All contact is via email and phone and everything is done digitally, so you can sit back and relax whilst we do the work for you.
-
Can you do house visits? We make sure our clients send over detailed floor plans, images (and videos) of the space so we understand what we are working with. This makes house visits unnecessary and keeps it cheaper for you, however we can do so for an additional mileage fee if you live within Wiltshire.
-
What happens if I don't like my design? We can assure you that this wont happen, as we talk to our clients throughout the entire process and ensure what we are designing is all according to your style preferences and budget. If however, once you receive your design you are not satisfied, please do let us know as we are happy to revise the design if you have opted for a package which includes revisions.
-
How long do your designs take?Allow around 2-3 weeks for each design. If you aren’t in a rush, that’s great as this allows us to research a wider variety of furniture and get samples sent to us if needs be.
-
How do I receive my design?Apart from swatches and paint samples we send in the post, your design will be sent you via email as a pdf presentation. Your suggested curated shopping list will include links to take you directly to all the furniture and accessories selec
-
Can you design my space including items I already own?Yes, absolutely. Often we have items which we love and want to keep, or are sentimental and have special meaning. I’ll make sure you can incorporate these into your newly designed space.
-
I don't have a floor plan, can you work with pictures of the room instead?Don't worry if you don't have a floorplan, a hand drawn sketch is fine. We do need some measurements from you though, to make sure we provide you with the best fit furniture options. Alternatively you may be able to get a floorplan from a previous estate agent listing for the property online.
-
What do you need from me to design my space? You’ll complete a design brief which helps understand your preferences and your needs. You’ll also supply photos and some specifics like measurements. These are really important to help me understand the space, and make sure the furniture selected fits well.

How does a virtual design consultation work without you seeing the house? The Designers Eye consulation is only offered in person if you live in Norfolk (mileage costs added) However, this service works incredibly well virtually! You will receive a detailed questionnaire before our consultation which asks for photos of your space, floorplans etc (you can also send a walk through video of the room as this helps me visualise the space further) so I have a really good idea of what the room currently looks like before we have the consultation. Also if you do have the old rightmove link or estate agents brochure then this allows me to see the whole house to allow for cohesion and understanding of style and architecture of the property. Along with the details of the questionnaire, photos of the current space and any inspirational images, I have the chance to prepare thoroughly with some ideas or advice before we have the zoom meeting together. During the call, I ask if it is possible for a virtual quick tour together and then talk about anything I have looked at in your responses or questions and offer design ideas and suggestions. Afterwards, you will receive a follow-up email with a summary of what we discussed giving you a good understanding of the direction you can head in with your space.
